I checked in on our hive at Bread for the City today, and it looks great! The bees seem to be taking to the division board feeder.
The health of that hive might also be attributed to the extra week-or-so of summer that this particular garden gets -- as it sits on the rooftop of Bread for the City. Speaking with the garden coordinator today, he said his summer crop (and blooms) will last about a week longer than traditional gardens because of the full and direct sunlight the rooftop receives. Bonus for the bees! They're especially drawn to the seemingly ever-flowering basil. The biodiversity at Bread for the City will surely make for delicious honey!
