Finally, a New DC Honeybees Video, Bee Package Installation

You've seen the package, now see the vid.  We got this package from Rock Hill Honeybee Farm in Stafford, about one hour outside DC.  This is a 3 lb package of Italian bees.  The installation was remarkably easy and quick, and the bees were terrifically gentle.  I put them in one of the nucs I demonstrated (6-frame deep nuc) to ward off the chill we are expecting tonight.

I have two more packages in my basement that are looking for a home, and I will hive these Monday after the threat of snow.
Here is the video:

  1. your son is brilliant !! That's exactly how Rappahannock Bee Asso is telling all new beekeepes to install their packages!! Our bees are coming April 16 and will post a youtube video of the demonstration given by our bee teacher.

  4. Too bad the person didnt leave their info. I am always suspicious of people who make complaints about businesses then dont leave info about who they are. Jerry has been providing bees to me for years and has been fantastic. SO much so that I have referred numerous people to him with great success. Not sure why you are having problems. 7. Jerry tried to scam me. I drove 1300 miles to buy single deep hives after his pollination. He is a jerk. He had about 6 frames of honey and 1/2 frame brood with barely enough bees to keep the brood warm, in fact, there was not enough. I walked away. he was going to mail me my deposit check but he reconsidered.
